Carrow House Conservatory, Norwich

John Youngs began work on this listed Boulton and Paul Conservatory in August 2009. The conservatory measures some 20 metres by 8 metres and is part of Carrow House in Norwich, itself a listed building on which John Youngs has carried out a previous refurbishment.

Carrow House, Norwich

The environmental improvement works comprised the re-roofing of 1,200 square-metre Carrow House, a Victorian mansion in central Norwich. The building currently houses the Costume and Textile Study Centre but was previously the home of the Colman family.

Mile End Surgery, Norwich

Works involved construction of a 70 square-metre extension to a medical practice that has been in existence on its present site since the 1940's. The Mile End Building was acquired by The Castle Partnership in 1976 and is one of the Norwich practice's three surgeries.

The Narthex, Norwich, St.John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral

Works involved the construction of a new dispensary and waiting area at the Blofield surgery, enhancing the services offered to patients, while offices and a meeting room have ensured the growing practice runs smoothly.

CT Scanner Room, Norfolk & Norwich Hospital

John Youngs commenced work on a new CT Scanner Room for The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in September 2009 and works were completed by the end of November. The creation of this room enabled the hospital to acquire a third CT scanner so more patients can be treated each day.

This project involved John Youngs creating a new kitchen at a top city centre Italian restaurant, Trattoria Rustica. The location of this 16th Century grade II listed building in Princes Street in the centre of Norwich, meant that the team had to operate within the confines of a courtyard.

DC10 Print Facility for Cambridge Assessment, Duxford

Work was carried out on a new print facility for education client Cambridge Assessment and comprised the design and construction of a mezzanine floor within an existing warehouse in order to form a print facility within the premises. The warehouse remained operational throughout.

The works comprised a two-storey addition to the existing Job Centre in Great Yarmouth. The finished extension blends with the existing building, and its construction of semi-engineering brick and blockwork complies with the Government regulations for buildings to be blast proof.

John Youngs undertook works on the Job Centre Plus (JCP), Townsend House, Thetford, to help staff cope with their increasing workload. This involved expanding into empty premises next door which involved two phases of work, as the building had to remain operational throughout.

Palace Street Offices, Norwich

John Youngs started work in May 2006 after completing enabling works on the former Bussey's garage site located on Palace Street, a site which nestles in the shadow of Norwich Cathedral. An eight-week archaeological dig uncovered new information about Norwich's medieval past and revealed hundreds of fragments, and traces of ancient cellars.
